______________________________________________ WHAT'S NEW AT SBQ... Listening to Quilts Estimating a Quilt's Age
Linda will be showing antique quilts from her collection and telling you what to look for to better listen to the quilts you own or are considering purchasing. If you know how to read the clues, you can usually determine an era, such as 1865-1900 or circa 1930. Dating quilts is not an exact science. Determining age is about finding enough reliable clues to build a case and make an educated guess. Every quilt has a story to tell.
If you'd like to learn more about one of your own quilts, make an appointment with Linda for a personal evaluation. there will be a $10 fee for each quilt. She will provide information about the various aspects of your quilt fabrics, contruction and style but is not a financial estimate.
Sat., May 5, 11am - 12pm.

We all agree that quilting gives you a sense of community that we find is lacking in our everyday lives. Come and be a part of two lost traditions: quilting and fellowship. Let us explain how it works...
1 - The cost is $40, and it includes 2 yards of fabric (your choice of focus fabric or background fabric). 2 - The group will meet the last Friday of of the month for 12 month - the group may choose mornings from 10am-1pm or afternoons from 2-5pm. 3 - Each person chooses a month. During 'your' month, each person in your group will make blocks of your choosing in your colorway for you! In return, you agree to make blocks for everyone else. 4 - We will provide a block book that has cutting directions for several sizes of each pattern for you to choose from. 5 - Invite your friends to participate in re-creating an old-fashioned sewing circle. 6 - Call the shop at 706-569-7744 before May 1st to sign up.
